Terms & Conditions

1. The Greener Camping Club

2. Payment

We request a 50% conditionally-refundable deposit when booking a camping pitch. Receipt of the deposit secures your booking. Please note that the deposit includes full payment (£10) for your Greener Camping Club membership. Unless you are already a member, in which case please supply the name and email of your membership. Pitches are held for up to seven days provisionally, after which, if we have not received your deposit, the dates will be released. The balance is required six weeks prior to your arrival date. For short lead-time bookings – ie. those booked less than four weeks before arrival, the full amount will be requested to secure the booking.

3. Cancellation by You

If you need to cancel your camping holiday 42 days or more before your arrival date, we will refund your deposit less a 20% admin fee. If you have also paid your balance and you need to cancel your camping holiday less than 42 days before your arrival date and we are able to re-let your holiday for the dates you have booked, we will refund your deposit and balance less a 20% admin fee. In the event that we are unable to re-let your dates, no refund will be made. If you are concerned about the prospect of cancelling, please take out holiday insurance. Bookings are not transferable to another family without our prior agreement. The Greener Camping Club membership fee is not refundable.

4. Cancellation by Us

Bryncoed Camping reserves the right to cancel a camping holiday at short notice if we are unable to provide a safe camping environment, due to extreme weather conditions, ill health, fire, flooding or any other extenuating circumstances beyond our control. Under such circumstances, your full payment will be returned to you. Bryncoed Camping cannot accept liability or responsibility for any loss, including consequential loss, caused by cancellation.

5. Children

Our aim is for children to have a fun-packed time enjoying the campsite and the surroundings. But because Bryncoed Farm is a working farm there are contingent risks to be aware of. Campfires are encouraged but please ensure children are not left unattended by a fire. Other things to be aware of are that there are axes for making kindling and splitting firewood, and other tools around, and there is a stream along the Northern boundary of our land. These risks are small and should be self-evident. Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children on site at all times. Bryncoed Camping accepts no responsibility for injury incurred on site.

6. Cars & Campervans

The speed limit while on the farm is 5 mph. Cars are not permitted on the camping fields, and must stay on the track and be parked in the designated bays by the farm house. There are wheelbarrows to transport your gear. Small campervans/vans are permitted by prior arrangement and as the vehicular transport only, not as your live-in accommodation. The site cannot accommodate large vans, motor homes etc due to limited parking spaces.

7. Recycling & Rubbish

A condition of camping here that you recycle your rubbish. That means separating glass, cans, plastic, paper, cardboard etc. and placing them in the special bins provided in the barn. What is left, ie. only items that are not recyclable, can be placed in the small landfill bin.

8. Wildlife

We do a lot to encourage wildlife so foxes and badgers may wander around the site at night. Please take precautions against wildlife raids on your food stores and rubbish/recycling. Put your food in suitable, hard containers and your recycling in the bins provided. Keep a tidy site and don’t leave food scraps lying around.

9. Campfires & Firewood

Please only use the designated campfire places and do not enlarge or alter the position of the designated campfire places. Do not leave your campfire unattended and think carefully about whether or not to light a fire if it is windy.

10. Consideration for Others

This is a peaceful, quiet campsite for the enjoyment of nature. We do not allow radios, stereos or other sound systems and only quiet talking is permitted after 10.30pm. Acoustic instruments can be played before then, such as guitars, harmonicas, flutes etc. Noisy visitors who disturb other guests will be asked politely to leave, without refund (We hope this will never need to happen). If you are out for the night and arrive back late, please be considerate of fellow campers and residents of the farmhouse (a torch will be useful to help you find your way to your tent).

11. Dogs

Please note that we are a dog-free site.

12. Smokers

All the undercover facilities are strictly NO SMOKING. If you smoke, do it outside and dispose of your cigarette ends in the bin (making sure they are completely extinguished before hand).

13. The Weather

In common with all of Wales, this campsite can be subjected to extreme weather conditions. Very strong winds and torrential rain can occur at any time of year, though we are fortunate in that we do not flood. Please ensure that your tent is robust and correctly erected – and avoid pitching in any obvious dips.

14. Toilets and Washing Facilities

Please only use biodegradeable soaps, washing up liquid, and conditioners. We are off-grid for waste water and do not want the ground and waterways affected by environmentally un-friendly chemicals. If you need a list of what and where to buy these prior to your visit please ask.

Toilets are well maintained compost loos. These reduce water waste as there is no flushing, and the nutrients go back on the land and help grow our trees! Compost toilets are very simple to use, but full instructions for use are posted in the cubicles. We DO NOT have a chemical disposal point (CDP).

15. Property Loss

Bryncoed Camping cannot be held responsible for any lost or stolen property. However, theft is very unlikely as the campsite is 300 metres down a private track, off a quiet country lane, and there is no access to the general public.
